National Startup Day
The day 16th January was declared by PM Modi in 2022 as National Startup Day. The main aim to declare this day is to mark the launch of Startup India initiative by Modi Government on 16th January, 2016. According to the sources, the India is now world’s 3rd largest startup ecosystem (after US & China).[1]
Startup Policy Forum (SPF), with the support of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Startup India, are launching flagship initiatives - Startup Baithak and Startup Baatcheet, to commemorate National Startup Day 2025.
Startup Baithak is a series of 12 exclusive, closeddoor roundtables held over two days in Bharat Mandapam and will witness participation from startups including Swiggy, Zerodha, Razorpay, CRED, Pine Labs, Groww, OYO, Practo, Dream11, MPL, CarDekho, Acko, Ixigo, MobiKwik, One Card, ProgCap, Digantara, BharatPe, Physics Wallah and Jupiter, amongst others. Participants will engage in focused discussions on critical policy areas, including Data Privacy, Reverse Flipping, AI Governance, Capital Market Regulations and Fintech Regulations.
Startup Baatcheet is an informal networking evening designed to facilitate conversations between founders, investors, policymakers, and ecosystem enablers. The event aims to capture insights on the startup outlook for 2025 while fostering collaborations across the entrepreneurial ecosystem.[2]
