According to Historians and locals of Baba Baroh, It is such a belief that Some time ago, a farmer was ploughing in this Changar (dry) area. While ploughing, suddenly something hit the plough and when his plough stopped, he saw that blood was flowing from the front of the plough. When he left the plough and looked down, he saw that the front part of the plough was stuck in a stone and blood was flowing from there. He immediately moved the plough back and started lifting that stone, there were two more stones with it. As soon as he touched the three stones, a voice suddenly came that O farmer, do not touch us like this, take off all your clothes and wear a dhoti and lift us. The farmer left the plough there and went to his house, took off all his clothes and wore a loincloth and took the dhoti and reached there. What did he see, a Baba Ji was sitting there. He was keeping the three stones in his lap. Then Baba Ji said, O devotee, take the three stones which have come to this world to liberate people. You should take these three idols on a pilgrimage. Kisan ji took all the three idols from Baba ji's hand and put them in the bag, then suddenly Baba ji disappeared from there. He called out many times asking Baba ji where are you but there was no trace of Baba ji. So Kisan ji started thinking what should I do now, suddenly a voice came that devotee you do your work which I have told you. At that very moment Kisan ji picked up the bag and left for the pilgrimage and while walking he reached a place called Baroh in the forest, it became dark there, Kisan ji hung his bag from a Garna tree and himself started arranging food and water by placing four stones and stayed there for the night. In the morning after getting up and going to the forest, he did not find water anywhere, so he hit his tongs on the ground, then water came out from there, he took the water and went back to the place where he had hung the bag, then what did he see there that one of the idols had settled down from the bag. From which blood was flowing. He tried very hard to lift that Pindi but it did not move from there, so he sat near the Pindi thinking what should I do now, suddenly a voice came that I have taken my place.[2]

You take these two Pindis on a pilgrimage. While moving forward with both Pindis, Baba Fatu (बाबा फतू) near Ranital, there he had to defecate, so he hung the bag with a banyan tree. After coming back from defecation, he saw that the second Pindi also sat down, he tried to lift it too but it too could not be lifted, then a voice came from there saying I have taken my place. Now you take this Pindi and make him do a pilgrimage. When he reached Balak Roopi with the third Pindi, there was a very big rock there, there was a tree next to the rock, he hung his bag on the tree and stayed there for the night, when he got up in the morning, what did he see, the third Pindi sat down there, then he started thinking what should I do, then a voice came saying I have taken my place. Now devotee, you go to your first Pindi Baba Baroh and see how the devotees are serving it. When that farmer reached Baba Baroh, what did he see that the greatness of that Pindi was so much that people from here and there were gathering and establishing a small temple. So that farmer asked the people what is happening here, then the people told that some time ago voices started coming here that all the devotees should serve me, so all of us gathered and saw that a small Pindi is sitting under the garbage, there is blood on it, all of us cleaned that place, suddenly a Baba Ji came there who started calling himself Baba Lal Puri Ji, he told all of us that this is the establishment of Baba Kalinath. So that farmer said that this Pindi was established, I had cooked food by placing four stones at this place. When those people looked there, they saw that the fire between the stones was the same which is famous as Baba Ji's Dhuna. Even after 12 years, the fire was the same. Where the farmer had taken water. When people went there and saw, it is considered as a shrine. Baba Lal Puri Ji believed the farmer's words to be true. He made a smoke where the fire was and made a small pot where the water was drawn. All the devotees started drinking milk from the rock where the milk had come out. They used to visit the temple in the morning and evening and drink milk. To go inside the temple, a 90 feet high step was made which had to be climbed up and down by holding a rope. All the devotees along with Baba Lal Puri Ji got so engrossed in public service that Baba Kalinath's glory spread far and wide. Every person's wishes started getting fulfilled. In Himachal, near Dehra Gopipur, there was a place called Guler, where King Sansar Chand Ji lived and his minister was Dhyan Singh Ji. Minister Dhyan Singh Ji made some mistake due to which King Sansar Chand Ji tried to convince minister Dhyan Singh a lot but he did not accept his mistake and King Sansar Chand Ji put him in jail.

Wazir Dhyan Singh started thinking that I am innocent, now how do I explain my innocence to Raja Sansar Chand ji. One thing came to Wazir Dhyan Singh's mind that why don't I go to Baba Baroh, the glory of a Pindi that has been found is spreading everywhere, any devotee who will believe in this Pindi and worship it, all his wishes will be fulfilled, so Wazir Dhyan Singh started pleading from inside the jail with folded hands that "Baba Kalinath, I am innocent, I gave a lot of explanations to Raja Sansar Chand ji about my innocence, he did not listen to even one of my words, Baba Kalinath ji I am innocent, you yourself are omniscient. I pray to you with folded hands that I am innocent, so take me out of these jails, if you do not free me from this jail today itself, then I will give up my life inside the jail itself. If you want to give me life, then get me released, I will serve you as soon as I am released and will build a temple with 20 doors around your temple."

And Suddenly at that moment, Baba Ji suddenly came in the form of a child and hit the prison doors with a splinter and the entire prison opened, Wazir Dhyan Singh was standing at the door and Baba Ji asked Wazir Dhyan Singh to come with him, Baba Ji took Wazir Dhyan Singh and hid him somewhere and gave a dream to Raja Sansar Chand Ji that you had imprisoned the innocent Wazir Dhyan Singh Ji, he is now with me and he has promised me that I will build a temple with 20 doors in your temple.

If you want your kingdom, then open your treasury for my temple, minister Dhyan Singh is in my custody. When the king woke up, what did you see? The dream that you had is true, the jails are open and all the prisoners are roaming around. Minister Dhyan Singh is not inside the jail. At that very moment, with folded hands, the king started praying that Baba Kalinath Baba Baroh, I have done something by mistake and I ask you for forgiveness that I will never take a wrong decision, please forgive me. Give minister Dhyan Singh to me, we both will start building your temple, I will not take charge of my kingdom until the temple is built. At that very moment, the minister stood in front of Dhyan Singh and Baba Ji in the form of a child, along with the king, fell at the feet of that child and Baba Ji became immortal. King Sansar Chand ordered all his citizens to take all the material like bricks, stones, lime etc. from here and take it to Baba Baroh. At that very moment all the employees, villagers, the king and the minister themselves got busy in service and built a temple of Baba Kalinath in Baba Baroh with 20 doors. In the pindi inside the temple, where the plough was placed, there is a moon-like symbol at the place and a Kali pindi is established along with it. In the middle of these pindis, there is a pond-like thing in which every day after bathing the Lord, all the water is poured into that pond and it is taken out by pouring it in a vessel and every day there is water in it. A complete circumambulation of this temple is done.

The biggest thing is that in the summers when it does not rain, the people here are very sad, so all the people come to the temple and pray and put two-three pots of water inside the temple. If it is going to rain and the Lord is happy, then the Kund fills up immediately and all the water starts flowing out. If it is not going to rain, then even if the entire public puts thousands of pots and buckets in the temple, the Kund does not fill up. Even today, if the entire public brings water and pours it inside the temple and see that the Kund fills up, even then the Kund does not fill up. When it is going to rain, the Kund fills up with just a little water. This tradition is still strong, the devotee who prays with a true heart, his wishes are fulfilled. Remember, believe in Baba Ji with a true heart and get peace and happiness for your family. He is the Kul Devta, whoever believes in this Kul Devta, and who has a Kul Devta and Kul Devi, they should meditate on Baba Kalinath with their body, mind and wealth and all your problems and wishes will be fulfilled.
